Basically it is prepared from banana florets. Firstly banana flower needs to be cleaned & then boil the cleaned banana flower until it is cooked well. Then tossed with crunchy tadka, chopped onion & freshly grated coconut. Banana blossom has an exotic taste, it can be used to cook a variety of dishes.

- Peel the petals of Vazhaipoo and remove the florets. In the florets, remove the stigma having bulb on top and remove the perianth having plastic like cover.
- Cut it into small pieces and put it in a bowl of buttermilk.
- In a kadai, add oil. Once oil gets heat, add mustard seeds. Fry it.
- Add onions, curry leaves, dry red chillies and turmeric powder. Saute till onions becomes translucent.
- Strain the florets and add it. Then add sambar powder and salt. Mix well.
- Add required water. Cover and cook for 15 mins in medium flame till it gets cooked.
- Atlast add grated coconut and mix well for a minute. Transfer to a bowl.
- Now it's ready to serve as a Sidedish for your lunch.
